Fuel Savings/Efficiency Tips

Fuel Efficiency Measures
Properly inflated tiers
if you imagine riding flat tiered cycle, you would
realize it takes a lot of force to move even an
inch. Similarly, it takes a lot engine power/force
if the driver drags low inflated tiers on the road.
The right pressure for 1000-1800cc cars is 32psi for
the front tiers and 30psi for rear. Remember to
36psi for spear tier. Pressure should be checked
from anywhere between 15-20 days.
Control of RPM & Speed
It has been proven by many car manufactures around
the world that the gears should be changed at an RPM
of 4(x1, 000). It consumes 30% more fuel if RPM
crosses 5(x 1,000). Try to drive in as higher gear
as possible to reduce burden on the engine.
Internationally 55 mph is considered to most optimal
speed for fuel consumption. One can end up saving
20% fuel if the speed is kept consistent on longer
routes.
Air Filter/Oil Change
Make sure to clean/change air filter after
every 2, 000 kilometers as blocked/clogged air
filter consumers more energy to clean the intake of
air. Change of oil filter/oil should take place
before or at the specifications of cars’
manufacturer.
Avoid unnecessary
burden
Avoid any unnecessary burden in the vehicle as
more energy is required to pull more weight. Many
drivers keep heavy metallic stuff in their cars
which reduces fuel efficiency. Keep your fuel tanks
half filled as 15-20 liters can add weight in
overall weight management.
The above-mentioned practices if adopted
with care can increase fuel efficiency by 25%.
